Walls, Fences and Deportations: The Radicalization of Border and Migration Policies

Walls, Fences and Deportations: The Radicalization of Border and Migration Policies

07.05.2025
17:00 - 18:30

Migration has been seen as a major problem in Western societies and beyond. Migrants around the world are met with growing hostility. Donald Trump’s hardline policies ignoring human rights and high court decisions have set a dangerous example. Raids, deportations, visa restrictions and the militarization of borders seem to have become political mainstream. At least, they have also been increasingly voiced by a growing number of European politicians. The online panel will discuss the consequences of the new border regimes and visa regulations for migrants and societies in the United States, Europe and beyond.
