Evaluation of the "Extremismus macht Schule II"Program

Evaluation of the "Extremismus macht Schule II"Program

The ‘Preventing extremism at school’ initiative aims to raise awareness of the dangers of ideologies of inequality among pupils at all levels and types of school across Austria and strengthen their resilience to radicalisation. It offers opportunities to reflect on questions of identity and coexistence in a pluralistic society.

The 235 offers from 77 providers that can be booked from the 2024/25 school year onwards focus on the topics of:

  • "Democracy, diversity, values and civil courage"
  • "Human rights, discrimination and sensitisation to prejudice"
  • "Extremist groups and ideologies"
  • "Conflict resolution and violence prevention"
  • "Media literacy and conspiracy theories"
  • "Middle East conflict, anti-Semitism"
  • "Radicalisation processes"

Using a mixed methods approach, the oiip evaluates the workshops offered as well as the overall concept of Extremism Prevention in Schools for submission to the ministries.
