Ece Oyman is a master’s student in International Relations, specializing in Conflict and Security at Central European University (CEU). She holds a double bachelor’s degree in Theater, Film, and Media Studies, and Political Science from the University of Vienna. For her bachelor’s thesis, she focused on the roles of women and female fighters in anti-state, separatist/liberatory, and terrorist organizations. Ece currently works as a conflict researcher at the Heidelberg Institute for International Conflict Research, where she examines the socio-economic and political implications of the bandit conflict in Nigeria. Her research interests include the impact of Innenpolitik on regional security policies, the influence of border security on conflict ecosystems, particularly in the West Asia and North Africa (WANA) region, and the role of hegemonic powers in shaping geopolitical security.
